3 Ways To Keep Grounded As A Busy Mom | Pregnancy Blog

Posted on 08. Jun, 2012 by Danielle Buffardi in Family

It?s easy for us mamas to feel burnt out and overworked, after all, we do hold the clan together on a daily basis.

That?s why it?s so important for moms to recharge and rejuvenate themselves so that we can stay fresh and strong for our brood.

Here are three super simple ways to keep on down the path of groundation, presentness, and overall compassion for ourselves, our lives, and our families.

Focus on You

Sounds so simple yet hardly any of us mothers actually take the time to do it.

This?doesn?t?have to be a 3 week vacation in Bora Bora, but every day ? allow yourself to love YOU.

Take five minutes and close your eyes and breathe deep. Allow your mind to clear itself of all the nagging, loudness, and demands. Repeatedly let your conscious tell itself how loved you are, how needed you are, and how your family appreciates you.

Loving and appreciating yourself starts with you, you are always all the validation you need to feel wonderful.

Focus on Your Partner

I mean, without you two, the kids?wouldn?t?be, right?

So thank each other daily and focus on the strong love and adoration that brought you two together in the first place.

It could be a simple embrace that?s held longer than normal, it could be an extra ?I love you? as you go out the door in the morning, and it could even be a quick romp before the kids get home from school or the baby wakes from a nap.

You know each other best, and therefore can pinpoint how your love is best shown to one another. But the key is to make the effort to show how much you love one another.

My philosophy is that no one can ever be loved enough, and no one ever gets tired of hearing that they are loved.

Write it out in rose petals, pinch their backside, passionately plant a kiss on them ? whatever it is you need to do to get your point across that you love and appreciate them, do it. It?ll make for a happier you, happier marriage, and happier children.

Focus on Your Kids

May sound redundant and a tad out of place since I?m trying to tell you to how to stay grounded as a mother, but it?s true.

When?s the last time you actually spent TIME with your child? Not that anything had to be happening, I?m talking just cuddling on the couch, sharing a good book together, even just gazing at your baby and stroking their hair.

Our children, regardless of their age, relish in our attention and love ? they want nothing more than for us to shower them with it all day every day. But that?s hard for us mamas, we have to work, we have to keep up a house, wash clothes, make dinner, focus on our partner, and a slew of other jobs need our attention daily.

We may be with our children a lot, but do we really stop and focus on them daily? If your answer is no, then change it right now so that it becomes a yes.

?

  • Love should be abundant in yourself, between you and your partner, and it should flow effortlessly onto your children.
  • If these three areas are lacking in some way, make a vow to fix them to how they should be. Your?well-being?and that of your family?s will thank you for it.
