Business Development Manager (2 roles 1 to cover the West of the UK and 1 to cover South Central UK)
Salary: ?28,000 - ?33,000+car/car allowance + commission
Location: Flexible - Either homes based or based from the Cirencester office

Working within Capita's Children's Services division the Business Development Manager drives sales and implementation of the Capita SIMS software. Working on leads supplied by our world class sales team you will visit prospective clients to demonstrate our market leading software ensuring that sales opportunities are maximised to their full potential.
Other key elements of this role include
- To ensure full prospect contact within region to maintain and develop sales opportunities to grow new business pipeline and sales.
- To manage prospect information communications and act as the conduit between Capita and the customer.
- Closely qualify all business opportunities and revisit the qualification factors throughout the sales process
- Identify potential risks during the sales process and act to mitigate them
- To accurately forecast sales performance for the territory using a sales pipeline working on a 5 month rolling basis.
- Produce well written communications to prospects on an on-going basis. Ensure that after each prospect visit a relevant communication is sent and stored in the stated systems.
- Attend sales events, exhibitions, regional user groups and other events where necessary.
- Co-ordinate across Product, Marketing, Sales, Prof Serv and Support to gather evidence/examples of best practice to support sales development/need building and to identify any potential new business leads eg word of mouth .
- Negotiate business agreements at all levels within customer organisations
Essential skills and experience
- Proven sales territory planning skills and experience
- Successful new business sales experience including sales of value added IT solutions
- Education - ideally degree calibre (or equivalent)
- Proven ability to build strong prospect relationships
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills
- Confidence in the use of IT for business purposes
- An understanding of the factors and issues affecting UK Education.
- A good communicator who has proven experience of Customer Relationship Management
Desirable skills and experience
- SIMS software and PowerPoint experience
- Delivering presentations at a professional level
- An understanding of schools' MIS
- Experience of the education market
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
